PORT OF MALANGAS
Malangas is one of the terminal ports of Zamboanga catering cargoes and passengers from the hinterland of Region IX specifically Zamboanga Sibugay Province and alternative port to ports of Pagadian and Margosatubig, Zamboanga del Sur. The main incoming cargoes of the Port of Malangas composed of various finished goods and products. There is also coal product at PNOC wharf.
Malangas is located in the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay. It is bounded on the North by the municipality of Diplahan, on the Northwest by the municipality of Imelda, on the Northeast by the municipality of Buug, on the Southwest by the municipality of Alicia, and on the South by the beautiful Dumanguillas Bay. The Port of Malangas is situated at the coastal town of Malangas which is now part of Zamboanga Sibugay Province located at 07°37’ N Latitude and 123°04’ E Longitude Southwest of Igai Point Northwest of Dumaguillas Bay, Malangas, Zamboanga City and Zamboanga Del Sur.
Technically the municipality of Malangas is located between 17°32’ N Latitude, and 122°56’ E to 123° 04’ Longitude coordinates. It is approximately 82 kilometers Southwest of Pagadian City by land and 210 kilometers to Zamboanga City.
The port of Malangas has approximately 2,610 sq. meters mostly operational area. Waters within Malangas at Dumanguillas Bay belong to the jurisdictions of the port.
