PORT OF IPIL

Ipil is one of the terminal ports of Zamboanga catering mostly to fish and other sea product which is located at the southern part of Zamboanga Peninsula. The municipality of Ipil serves as the provincial capital of the newly created province of Zamboanga Sibugay comprising of 16 municipalities carved out from the larger Zamboanga del Sur Province.

Ipil is capital town of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay located in the southwestern section of the Province. The municipality strategic location is what makes it advantageous it its pursuit to become self-sufficient locality. It lies at the crossroad between Pagadian City-Zamboanga City and Dipolog City route, which is the national highway. It is approximately situated at 135 kilometers west of Pagadian City (the capital city of Zamboanga del Sur); 139 kilometer east of Zamboanga City (the acknowledged regional center) and 177 kilometer south of Dipolog City (the capital city of Zamboanga del Norte). The municipality is at the geographical coordinates of 122°35’ Longitudes and 07° 47 Latitude with an area of elongated regular shape of approximately 12 x 7 km.

The port of Ipil is located at barangay Magdaup approximately 3 km for the town proper.
